This course is an excellent introduction to counselling. It is intended for people who would like to learn counselling skills to help others.
The overall assessment is carried out on an ongoing basis with a portfolio of work, observations of practice and an externally assessed written paper.
Successful completion of Level 2 may lead to the progression onto Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies. The CPCAB Level 2 Certificate is an excellent official introduction to the field of counselling.
This qualification does not qualify you to be a counsellor on its own, however it does provide an ideal opportunity to develop counselling skills as a skilled helper, which can be useful in a wide range
of situations.

Upon completion of the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, this qualification is the next step
in your training to becoming a professional Counsellor.
This course is designed to develop your overall knowledge of counselling theory and agency work.
The overall assessment is carried out on an ongoing basis with a portfolio of work, observations of practice and an externally assessed written paper.
Successful completion of Level 3 may lead to the progression onto Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
This course is run on a weekly basis, with two Saturday workshops. Daytime and evening courses are available.
A brief interview will be held to assess the suitability
of all learners for this course.
Course fee: £950 (inclusive of registrations fees of £189). Payment plans are available.

This qualification is intended for people who wish to train to become a professional counsellor working within a counselling agency.
All learners must have successfully completed a Level 2 Counselling Skills and a Level 3 Counselling Studies qualification in order to qualify for Level 4.
This course is designed to develop your overall knowledge of counselling theory and agency work to an advanced degree. Upon completion, this qualification will enable learners to provide counselling services within an agency’s framework.
In addition, successful completion of this qualification enables learners to progress onto other qualifications and training in order to become an independent practitioner or work in a specialist area.
The overall assessment during the course is made by an ongoing portfolio of work, observations of practice and an externally assessed practical exam and written paper.
Successful completion of Level 4 also requires at least 100 hours of supervised client work. Learners will also be expected to complete at least 10 hours of personal therapy during the life of the course.
This course is run on a weekly basis over two years, with Saturday workshops once a month and one residential weekend away.

An interview will be held and a written assessment carried out to establish the suitability for the course.
Course fee: £5,000 for 2 years of training (including registration fees of £366 per year). Payment plans are available.

This qualification is intended for people who wish to develop competencies to work as a self-employed counsellor in independent practice.
All learners must have successfully completed a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in order to be eligible to study at Level 5.
The course is designed to develop your knowledge, skills and theory to work as an autonomous counselling in private practice or agency settings, a senior counsellor in an agency or to teach counselling providing they hold the relevant teaching qualifications.
The overall assessment during this course is made by an ongoing portfolio of work, observations of practice and an externally assessed case review. Successful completion of Level 5 also requires a minimum of 60 hours formally contracted counselling (including client assessment). Learners will also be expected to have completed 40 hours of personal counselling by the end of the course.
The course is run one session a month with two full weekends and a residential.
Places are limited.
An interview will be held to establish the suitability of all learners for this course.
